The E.T. Bracket Racing Series is the most common type of sportsman drag racing.  Bracket Racing offers a level playing field by allowing each competitor to pick their own time.  Using a handicap start it allows the slower competitor to receive a head start.  The faster competitor will then get the opportunity to "chase" the slower car down.  In a perfect world both racers would get to the finish line at exactly the same time, bracket races are often determined by less than .001 of a second.  It is some of the most competitive and exciting racing around.  Racers compete for the year-end Championship, point fund, as well as an opportunity to represent Royal Purple Raceway at the Division 4 Summit E.T. Finals at the Texas Motorplex.

Staging Process:  The designated staging lanes for the Foot Brake class will be lanes 2,3,4 & 5 during Time Trials.  When starting Eliminations, Lanes 2 & 3 will be assigned as the right lane and lanes 4 & 5 assigned as the left lane.  Pairings will be pulled at the discretion of the Staging Lanes RPR Official.  Lanes will be pulled in random for example; Lane 2 Right Lane, and Lane 5, Left Lane.  Another example would be Lane 3 Right Lane and Lane 4 Left Lane will be paired up.  When starting the 4th round of eliminations, all Foot Brake competitors still in competition will reside in lanes 2 & 3 ONLY until the conclusion of the race.  Any driver that decides to leave the lanes once positioned will be grounds for disqualification.

The designated staging lanes for the Super Pro class will be lanes 7,8,9 & 10 during Time Trials.  When starting Eliminations, Lanes 7 & 8 will be assigned as the right lane and lanes 9 & 10 assigned as the left lane.  Pairings will be pulled at the discretion of the Staging Lanes RPR Official.  Lanes will be pulled in random for example; Lane 8 Right Lane, and Lane 10, Left Lane.  Another example would be Lane 7 Right Lane and Lane 9 Left Lane will be paired up.  When starting the 4th round of eliminations, all Super Pro competitors still in competition will reside in lanes 7 & 8 ONLY until the conclusion of the race.  Any driver that decides to leave the lanes once positioned will be grounds for disqualification.

Note that at any time the lanes are stacked in an uneven pairing situation, it is at the discretion of the RPR Staging Lanes Official to pair cars with the first car in the single line going to the right lane and the next car in line going to the left lane and so forth until the lanes are emptied.

Summit Racing Equipment King of the Track

Summit Racing Equipment King of Track

The way we will determine the Summit Racing Equipment King of the Track will be as follows:

The two class winners will qualify for one spot on the ladder for the Summit Racing Equipment King of the Track competition.

At the end of the season we will tally all of the winners from each night of racing, and build two ladders (Super Pro and Foot Brake) with the most recent winner places as the number one qualifier and work backwards by date to fill the ladder.  This will give everyone the chance to improve their qualifying position throughout the year.  Your last win will be considered your qualifying spot win as we build the ladders.

On race day we will run off both ladders down to a qualifying champion in both the Super Pro and Footbrake classes.  These qualifying winners will race in a best of two out of three races to determine the Summit Racing Equipment King of the Track who will receive the NHRA “Wally.”
